The Sunshine Coast has successfully bid to host the 2016 World Outrigging Sprint Championships which will be held at Lake Kawana.

The staging of the 17th IVF Va’a World Sprint Championships at Lake Kawana on the Sunshine Coast will ensure the continued growth of the V1 discipline throughout Australia and the development of V1s in emerging countries such as Malaysia.
